In this way the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power. - Acts 19:20
My son purchased my first cross for me at a concert he attended. This was a very special gift that I was proud to wear -- not only because I received it from my son, but because of what it represented.
The cord reminds us of the leather straps used to beat Our Savior; the wrapped wire represents the thorn branches twisted into a crown to mock the King of Kings; and, of course, the nails represent the spikes that were driven into the hands and feet of the Lord of Lords.
I used this initial cross as a pattern to make another one ... and another... and another...
It has been my privilege to share this gift with others. When someone comments on the cross I wear, I use that as an opportunity to witness to that person; telling them about my love for Jesus and inviting them to take my cross and pass this love on. I encourage them to continue this small act when they meet someone to share with. I am happy to replace their cross should they pass it on. The more people reached, the better.
This web site gives people an opportunity to share their stories (testimonies) about their own experiences as well as request a replacement cross. Due to the increasing cost of the materials and the growth of this project, donations are welcome and appreciated.
Thank you for the opportunity.
